At Aura, accessible from aurafocus.app, your privacy is a genuine priority — not a formality. This policy explains exactly what data we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and how long we keep it. We have written it in plain language so you can make informed decisions.

1. Who We Are

Aura is a pre-launch productivity product operated by an individual (sole proprietorship) based in Maharashtra, India. We are currently in a demand-validation phase. References to "Aura," "we," "us," and "our" in this policy refer to this operation.

This website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Our primary contact for all privacy matters is support@aurafocus.app.

2. What Information We Collect

Information you provide directly

  • Waitlist email: If you submit your email via the early-access or notification form, we store your email address to send you launch updates.
  • Reservation details: If you complete the reservation form, we collect your full name, email address, phone number, shipping address, city, postal code, and country. This is used solely to reserve your Aura NFC card and contact you when your region goes live.
  • Refundable deposit: If you choose to pay the optional ₹49 refundable deposit to confirm your reservation, payment is processed by Instamojo (for India). We receive only a payment confirmation and your email address from Instamojo. We do not receive or store your card number, UPI ID, or any payment credentials. For international visitors, deposits may be processed by Lemon Squeezy, which operates as merchant of record and handles all payment credentials independently.

Information collected automatically

  • IP address and geolocation: Your IP address is passed to ipapi.co to detect your approximate country. This determines which regional pricing and availability message you see. We do not log or store your IP address beyond this lookup.
  • Analytics data: We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors interact with our site — pages viewed, buttons clicked, time on page, and funnel steps. GA4 sets cookies in your browser. Data is anonymised and aggregated; we cannot identify you individually from GA4 data alone.
  • Session recording: We use Microsoft Clarity to record anonymised session replays and generate heatmaps. This helps us identify usability issues. Clarity does not capture passwords or payment fields and masks sensitive form inputs automatically.
  • Browser and device data: Standard server log data including browser type, referring URL, pages visited, and timestamps is retained by our hosting provider, Cloudflare, in line with their own privacy policy.
  • A/B test variant: We assign visitors to copy-testing variants (e.g., different button labels) randomly at page load. The assigned variant is stored in your browser's localStorage. No personal information is attached to this value and it never leaves your device.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To send you launch notifications and product updates if you joined the waitlist or made a reservation.
  • To process and manage your Aura NFC card reservation and contact you when shipping opens in your region.
  • To process refundable deposit payments and issue refunds when applicable.
  • To display correct regional pricing and availability messaging based on your country.
  • To measure demand across regions and decide which regions to launch in first.
  • To improve the website experience using aggregated, anonymised analytics data.
  • To detect and prevent fraudulent or duplicate reservations.

We do not use your data for advertising targeting, profiling, or any purpose not listed above. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party under any circumstances.

4. How We Store Your Data

Reservation and waitlist data submitted via our forms is stored in a private, access-controlled Google Sheet operated solely by us. This sheet is not shared with any third party and is used only for fulfillment planning and launch communications.

Email and reservation form submissions are also routed through Formspree, a form backend service, which retains a copy of each submission on their servers subject to their own privacy policy.

Data retention: We retain your reservation and contact data for up to 24 months from the date of submission, or until you request deletion — whichever comes first. If Aura does not launch in your region within that period, we will delete your data and notify you by email.

5. Third-Party Services We Use

The following services process data on our behalf. Each operates under its own privacy policy.

  • Cloudflare Pages — website hosting and CDN. Processes request metadata including IP addresses. Privacy policy →

  • ipapi.co — IP-based country detection for regional pricing. Only your IP address is processed, handled automatically by your browser. Privacy policy →
  • Instamojo (India payments) — processes optional ₹49 refundable deposits for Indian visitors. Handles all payment credentials directly. We receive only a payment confirmation. Privacy policy →
  • Lemon Squeezy (International payments) — merchant-of-record platform for international visitors. Handles all payment credentials and tax compliance independently. Privacy policy →

6. Cookies and Local Storage

We use the following cookies and browser storage mechanisms on this site:

  • _ga, _gid (Google Analytics): Distinguish visitors and track sessions. _ga expires after 2 years; _gid expires after 24 hours.
  • _clsk, _clck (Microsoft Clarity): Used for session recording. _clsk expires after 1 day; _clck expires after 1 year.
  • localStorage — aura_ab_variant: Stores your randomly assigned copy variant for A/B testing. Never sent to any server. Persists until you clear browser storage.
  • localStorage — aura_currency: Stores your currency display preference (INR/USD) if you toggle it manually. Never sent to any server.

You can disable cookies via your browser settings at any time. This will not prevent you from using the site but will stop analytics tracking.

7. Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal data held by us:

  • Right to access: Request a copy of all personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to rectification: Ask us to correct inaccurate information such as a wrong shipping address.
  • Right to erasure: Request complete deletion of your data. This will cancel your reservation. If you paid a ₹49 deposit, we will issue a full refund before deleting your record.
  • Right to withdraw consent: Unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time via the unsubscribe link in any email we send, or by contacting us directly.
  • Right to data portability: Request your personal data in a machine-readable CSV format.

To exercise any of these rights, email support@aurafocus.app with the subject line "Privacy Request". We will respond within 30 days.

8. Children's Privacy

Aura is intended for users aged 16 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a minor has submitted data through our site, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of India, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011. Any disputes arising from this policy are subject to the jurisdiction of courts in Maharashtra, India.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when our data practices change — for example, when we add new tools, begin shipping products, or launch the iOS app. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If you have an active reservation, we will notify you by email before material changes take effect.
