Welcome to Aura. These Terms of Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Aura website (aurafocus.app) and, once available, the Aura iOS application and associated physical NFC card (collectively, the "Service").

Aura is currently operated by an individual (sole proprietorship) based in Maharashtra, India. References to "Aura," "we," "us," and "our" refer to this individual operation.

By accessing our website, joining our waitlist, or placing a reservation, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Current State of the Service

Aura is in an active pre-launch, demand-validation phase. At this time, the Service consists of this website only. The iOS app and physical NFC card do not yet exist as shipping products. By using this website, you acknowledge this clearly.

When the product launches, Aura will provide a productivity tool that helps users block distracting applications via a physical NFC card. The iOS app will be provided free of charge. The physical NFC card will require a one-time purchase with no recurring subscription fees.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years of age to use the Service or place a reservation. By using the Service, you confirm that you meet this age requirement. If you are under 18, you confirm that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and consented to these Terms on your behalf.

3. Pre-Launch Reservations

By submitting your shipping details through our reservation form, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

  • You are placing a reservation of interest for the Aura NFC Card — not a confirmed purchase order.
  • No charge is processed at the time of reservation. Submitting shipping details alone does not result in any payment.
  • We reserve the right to cancel, modify, or delay reservations based on regional availability, App Store approval status, manufacturing capacity, or any other operational constraint.
  • You may cancel your reservation at any time by emailing support@aurafocus.app. Cancellations are confirmed within 5 business days.
  • Reservation of shipping details does not guarantee product availability in your specific location or within any specific timeframe.

4. Refundable Deposit

After submitting your reservation, you may optionally pay a small refundable deposit (₹49 for India) to confirm your spot in the launch batch. By paying this deposit, you agree to the following:

  • The deposit is processed securely by Instamojo (India) or Lemon Squeezy (international). We do not store or access your payment credentials.
  • The deposit is fully refundable — no questions asked — at any time before your order ships. To request a refund, email support@aurafocus.app. Refunds are processed within 7 business days.
  • Payment platforms (Instamojo, Lemon Squeezy) retain their processing fees on refunds. We absorb this cost — you receive your full deposit amount back.
  • If Aura does not launch or fails to ship to your region within 24 months of your deposit date, we will proactively issue a full refund and notify you by email. You do not need to request it.
  • A deposit does not constitute a binding purchase contract. It is a demand signal that helps us plan manufacturing and regional launch sequences.

5. Pricing and Payment at Launch

At the time of actual product launch and shipment, the final price for the Aura NFC Card will be communicated to you by email before any charge is processed. You will have the opportunity to confirm, modify, or cancel your order before payment is collected.

Prices displayed on this website during the pre-launch phase are indicative and subject to change. Launch pricing will be confirmed in writing before any transaction.

6. Your Responsibilities

When using this website or, once available, the Aura app and NFC card, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate, truthful shipping and contact information during the reservation process. False information may result in cancellation of your reservation without notice.
  • Use the Service only for its intended purpose of personal productivity and digital wellness management.
  • Not attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, clone, or maliciously bypass the NFC mechanism, app restrictions, or any security feature of the Service.
  • Not use the Service in any manner that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair our website or infrastructure.

7. Emergency Stops and Intentional Friction (Future Product)

When the Aura app ships, it will be intentionally designed to make it difficult to access blocked applications without the physical NFC card. By purchasing and using the product, you will acknowledge and agree that:

  • Aura is not responsible for any missed communications, emergencies, or inconveniences arising from apps being intentionally blocked during an active focus session.
  • It is your sole responsibility to ensure that essential communication channels — such as phone calls, emergency contacts, or critical messaging apps — are not added to your blocked list if you require constant availability.
  • Emergency Stop overrides are a limited-use safety feature, not a convenience feature. Their limited availability is intentional and core to the product design.
  • Aura operates within the permissions granted by Apple's iOS platform. The degree of blocking is limited by what Apple's Screen Time API permits and may change with iOS updates beyond our control.

8. Intellectual Property

The Service — including this website, all content, design, copy, product concepts, hardware designs, the Aura name, and associated branding — is the exclusive intellectual property of the operator. It is protected under applicable Indian and international copyright and trademark law.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from any part of the Service without explicit prior written consent. Aura's trademarks and trade dress may not be used in connection with any other product or service.

9. No Warranty

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis during this pre-launch phase. We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the Service, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the website will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We do not warrant that the product will be launched within any specific timeframe or at all.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable Indian law, the operator of Aura shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, or loss of goodwill.

In all cases, our total liability to you — including for any issues arising from the reservation process or refundable deposit — shall not exceed the amount you paid to us, which during the pre-launch phase is limited to the value of any deposit paid (maximum ₹49 / $1).

11. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, including the Indian Contract Act, 1872 and the Information Technology Act, 2000. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in Maharashtra, India.

Before initiating any formal dispute, you agree to first contact us at support@aurafocus.app and give us 14 days to resolve the matter informally. Most issues — including refund requests — can be resolved quickly by email.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms when the product evolves — for example, when the iOS app launches, when we begin fulfilling orders, or when we expand to new regions. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

If you have an active reservation or have paid a deposit, we will notify you by email before material changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date of changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
